Mackintosh style dining chairs

When we received this pair of Mackintosh-style dining chairs, they were in urgent need of renovation. They were covered in paint-splatters, the seat of one was cracked, and of course the covers needed replacing. We rubbed down the frames and re-sprayed them black. The cracked wooden seat was replaced and new foam was applied to both chairs. The seats were then covered in a bold purple & black retro geometric pattern from Sunbury Design. It would have been very easy to select a ‘safer’ fabric, but the client was keen for something unusual which would stand out. The transformation is amazing and the result is a stunningly impactful pair of occasional chairs, ideal for brightening up a small space like a hallway. This project shows how a bold and adventurous choice of fabric can really pay dividends.

Coach & Horses Inn, Bolton by Bowland

We were recently commissioned to provide soft furnishings for the re-opened Coach & Horses Inn in Bolton by Bowland, near Clitheroe. These included large headboards for the bedrooms, both deep-buttoned and plain; deep-buttoned leather banquettes for the dining area; dining chairs; scatter cushions and bolster cushions in various designs and sizes, and decorative curtains. Many of these we have made from scratch, from the timber upwards. We have also renovated existing pieces of furniture, such as the settles, making them beautiful and inviting once more.

The materials used are of very high quality, and the fabrics chosen carefully to make an impact, whilst remaining sympatehtic to the environment.

It’s no exaggeration to say that the various pieces look absolutely stunning in-situ, as does the rest of this beautifully refurbished Grade 2 listed inn.
